Bernadette Murphy likes her life. Really, she does. What’s wrong with carrying around an extra ten pounds from fertility treatments? Or having your dog kicked out of obedience school? Again? What’s that saying about the devil you know? For Bernie, it’s the devil she never expected that changes everything.

Her father’s sudden death leaves a gaping void in her life and is one in a series of events that rock her world. Her husband leaves for another woman, and her best friend announces an unplanned pregnancy at the age of forty-one. Bernie’s behavior goes from acting out to out-of-hand, and she finds herself in trouble at home, out of work and banned from the mall after a confrontation at the cosmetic counter.

When her mother discovers her father’s book of cryptograms, Bernie realizes his encoded lessons in living might be exactly what she needs to survive. From dealing with her family’s grief and bonding with her best friend’s thirteen-year-old daughter, to dieting, dating and mindless almost-sex with the landscaper, Bernie discovers what her father always knew.

In life, you either choose to sing a rainbow, or you don’t.

For Bernie, the singing is about to begin.

But will her quest lead her to love or into a deadly trap?

Every desperate housewife would love an alias. Donna Stone has one and it’s government sanctioned. Oh sure, you’ve got to be ruthless to take on Russian mafia bosses, rogue dictators, and terrorists set on destroying the world. But it takes real killer instincts to survive suburbia. Try juggling the 5th grade phone tree during a shootout with arms dealers, or driving carpool while being chased by Chinese double agents.

Donna’s life wasn’t always this complicated. Five years earlier she was just another woman with two preschoolers, a baby bump, and an adoring husband, Carl, with whom she lived happily ever after in a McMansion in the Orange County, California community of Hilldale. But Donna’s life was changed forever the night she delivered her baby:

Carl’s car blew up on the way to the hospital…

When a series of shocking suicides rock the small town of Millingham, Massachusetts, the authorities are left with a single burning question. What was it the victims saw in those final moments that made them tear their eyes out?

Only seventeen-year-old Lysander Shore knows these aren’t suicides at all. There’s a serial killer stalking the people of Millingham. One that murders at will and never leaves a trace.

And it isn’t long before the trail of bodies leads Lysander to a dark secret. A secret that traces back to a witch’s trial and execution 350 years before. The deeper Lysander digs, the more he realizes the victims aren’t nearly as random as they seem. In fact, the killer has a list and Lysander is next.

Blaze MacKenzie is a freakishly-tall heiress who just discovered that her ‘parents’ actually found her abandoned as an infant in some bizarre human sacrifice in the woods. Along with that nasty little bit of information came a six hundred thousand dollar check, a strange golden feather, and the ability to move to the Alaska Bush and begin her dream-life living off the Grid.

Unfortunately for Blaze, life in rural Alaska isn’t as peaceful as she expected. Among her many startling discoveries is that her sexy new handyman, Jack Thornton, has already ‘claimed’ the territory that her new lodge is sitting on…

Further complicating matters, Jack makes it clear to Blaze that there are a good many things that go bump in the Alaskan night, and when a pack of werewolves goes rogue and starts killing or turning everyone along the Yentna River, Blaze and Jack find themselves in a fight for survival in this magic-soaked Land of the Midnight Sun.

I have over 250 books on my Kindle Fire and all of the came from here or Amazon free books, I have paid for only 10 books since getting my kindle in March. Not bad and they offer some really good books, depending on your taste and what you like to read. Pat, they have a nice line of Gluten Free cook books too!

Patricia Smith July 20, 2012 at 8:02 pm

thanks for the info how many books does this hold got mine for mothers day and I DID BUY 2 $.99 cent books

Pat Rivers Barnes July 20, 2012 at 8:36 pm

Kindle will hold 1400 books, Kindle Fire holds 6,000 books. If there is a book I want bad enough I will pay for it, but the free books I have gotten have really been very good and I love the cookbooks. I like the 99cent books too! I love my Kindle Fire, right now I just use it for the books and I check face book when I'm away from my computer and my emails. I'm sorry I waited so long to let Mike buy one for me.
