Her name was Capri, and she was Air. She was born with a gift she didn’t understand. A gift so strange, so remarkable that she had kept it secret for as long as she could remember, despising that it made her different when all she wanted was to be normal, to belong. As an orphan, belonging to someone, anyone, would have been an incredible blessing, one she would have given up all that she had just to get a taste of. In fact, she didn’t belong with human beings at all…

Her leavings are doomed to exist outside of Regency society, and one – Adrian – finds he cannot shed his humanity in spite of what he has become. He wishes for nothing more than the death he is constantly denied.

Lost and alone, he washes up on the beach of a small English estate, St. Chesswell’s. And there he’s found by the owner, Sir Sidney Chesswell, a gentleman of science and soul with a heart yearning for family. Unfazed by Adrian’s “condition”, Sir Sidney adopts him, giving them both new hope and a future that isn’t as bleak as either anticipated. Science, believes Sir Sidney, can produce an answer to Adrian’s affliction and together they work to find something that will help.

But revelations are inevitable and truths will out, no matter how well concealed they might be.

Marcy Rucilez May 15, 2012 at 5:53 pm

Got the first three! Thank you, honestly, don't you (POI) get tired of hearing "Thank You"? I mean it just doesn't seem to be enough for all you give us! :-)

Linda Becker May 15, 2012 at 6:07 pm

I just finished Blue Grass State of Mind and I have never seen so many typos in one book! Really… I think authors need to hire proof-readers for the transfer of book to Kindle.

Holly Ashfield May 15, 2012 at 8:49 pm

I thought that was directly related to getting what you paid for….

Wanda Harrod Cobbins May 16, 2012 at 1:23 am

You get what you pay for– its free-

Shellie Ware Stone May 16, 2012 at 2:30 am

I am new to kindle, but I have the feeling that these books are "self-published"?

Lisa E. Gillen May 16, 2012 at 3:27 am

It shouldn't be a question of getting what you paid for it or if something was self-published or not, it should be a question of personal pride in putting out the best product you can. From what I understand formatting issues sometimes occur even if the author's copy was clean and they don't always even notice it unless they read the version that we're getting, but spelling issues and mistakes like 'your' instead of 'you're'- those are lazy author issues.

Nita Medellin Privette May 15, 2012 at 6:41 pm

@linda Becker I notice that in quite a lot of books I read. REALLY isn't that weird?

Lorie Buckels Humpherys May 15, 2012 at 9:30 pm

I've read a book in hard copy that didn't have typos, and then on the Kindle it did. The freebies are great, but I agree that Kindle needs to do a better job of transferring — even if it's just updating their OCR software.

Nita Medellin Privette May 18, 2012 at 5:23 am

I haven't had it to much in the kindle but then I am pretty new like 4 books read only.

Joy Delk Ferrenburg May 15, 2012 at 6:42 pm
