On a bet, Nicholas Duvall, rakehell Earl of Barrington, assumes the role of a coach driver. When he witnesses Katya Alexander picking the pocket of a fellow passenger, her beauty, skill, and audacity captivate him.

Katya is exactly what he needs to retrieve an ancient family scroll that has been stolen from him. He makes her an ungentlemanly offer: pose as his mistress and help him retrieve a priceless family scroll. In return, he would offer her his protection.

Katya has her own reasons for agreeing to the deception, reasons that she must keep hidden from Nicholas: an age-old family feud that made them mortal enemies. Caught up in the glittering intrigue of 19th century Monaco, together they embark on a mission filled with danger and intrigue.

Their plan was flawless, until Nicholas loses his heart to the beautiful stranger with secrets to burn, and the passion smoldering between them finally ignites.

In the forgotten town of Red Fox, a Navajo couple is tortured by things unseen and by motives unknown. Wild animals slink through their house in the dark, a barrage of stones pound their roof nightly, and mutilated sheep carcasses are turning up on their property. Armed with a camera and just enough to go on, Perry and Dex travel to the desolate locale, hoping to film the supernatural occurrences and add credibility to their flailing webcast. Only their show has a lot more working against them than just growing pains. Tested by dubious ranch hands, a ghost from Dex’s past, and shapeshifting deception, the amateur ghost hunters must learn to trust each other in order to fight the most ancient of myths…or die trying.

Missy Olds Dunn June 21, 2012 at 5:41 pm

it really is free. No joke, no catch, nothing.

Tracy Minter Moan June 21, 2012 at 5:42 pm

I have been downloading the books for quite sometime onto my kindle from the Amazon website and they do not come back and charge you later on. Also, you can search on your own through amazon and find free books. the great thing about Pixel is that they do it for you. :)

Bing Furbeyre Resus-Chua June 21, 2012 at 5:47 pm

Phyllis, you're missing out a lot if you don't get these freebies! I've downloaded countless of books fromhere; think of the money you save! And you get to choose and read a synopsis before you get them! What more could you ask?

Erin M. Druckenmiller June 21, 2012 at 5:48 pm

There's no catch! Although these authors might not be best-selling some of the books I've gotten are quite good. I've never had a problem result from downloading any books from here. It's all legit through Amazon :-) Hope this helps :-)

Dawn Hightower June 21, 2012 at 10:23 pm

I think a lot of them are free because I've never heard of some of these authors. I have found a couple with typos…but all in all this is a spectacular sight.
While you can't dictate what types of books they offer there is also Inspired Reads(religious) and POI Young edition (where I've picked up several children's books to have my nephew read to me) and several other linked sights.
And…all the books are delivered via Amazon unlike some of the other places I've seen with discounted ebooks. I've told everyone I know that has a Kindle about this sight.
